Speaker introduction
  Georges Lacroix

Graduate of the Ecole des Arts Decoratifs in Strasbourg, then admitted to Paris’s Ecole des Beaux Arts in 1963, Georges Lacroix made at the same time a career in comic strip and cartoon. As an illustrator and graphic designer he worked then several years for the French and foreign press magazines and advertising agencies while being in charge of the Artistic Direction at L’Express magazine.

Between 1980 and 1985, Georges Lacroix produced as an independent film director video programmes, animation and institutional films.


In 1985, he founded Fantome, a studio specialized in 3D computer animation and was involved in the creation, the direction and the production of several animated series and films in partnership with Renato, co-founder."The Geometric Fables" (1989-1992) is the first TV series never made in 3D computer animation followed by "Insektors" (1990-1997) which won more than 30 international Awards, including an International Emmy Award. "Insektors" is the very first long TV series ever made in 3D computer animation technique.

In 2001, Georges Lacroix founded GL Consulting, a studio specialized in the field of animation and new technologies dedicated to image and sound, expertise and education, the creation of digital content in animation and special effects. Since then, he organizes international conferences on the subject of new technologies and animation, teaches animated film direction at graduate schools and universities worldwide.
He was invited as jury member and speaker in several international animation films festivals.

Today, he continues managing GL Consulting and teaching while he is working on development of personal projects in animation.

French Ministry of Culture rewards
Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters
Grand Prix National of Audiovisual Creation for his entire oeuvre.
